Refund policy
1. Donations vs Fundolar fees
Donations. When a donor contributes to a charitable or civic organization through a website or checkout flow powered by Fundolar software, the donation is a payment to that organization (subject to processor settlement timing). Fundolar facilitates technology and, where applicable, centralized configuration—it does not ordinarily receive donated funds as charitable income.
Fundolar fees. If you purchase paid Services directly from Fundolar, separate rules in Section 3 apply.
2. Refunds of donations
Refund eligibility for donations is determined by:
- The fundraising organization’s published policies and governing documents;
- Applicable charitable solicitation and consumer regulations;
- The policies of the payment processor or card network handling the transaction;
- Whether funds have already been settled, batched, or distributed to the beneficiary.
Donors seeking a refund or correction should contact the organization whose campaign they supported in the first instance. Organizations may coordinate reversals, voids, or offsetting entries through their processor dashboards according to network rules—often subject to short windows for unsettled authorizations.
Chargebacks. Cardholders may initiate disputes through their issuing bank. Organizations should maintain documentation (receipts, acknowledgment letters, campaign disclosures) to respond to disputes. Excessive chargebacks can affect processing privileges; Fundolar may surface operational alerts but does not control issuer outcomes.
3. Refunds for Fundolar-paid Services
Where Fundolar charges subscription or usage fees directly to you:
- Statutory rights: Fundolar honors mandatory cooling-off and withdrawal rights where applicable, including under Canadian consumer protection rules and European distance-contract regulations.
- Monthly subscriptions: Fees are non-refundable after the billing period in which service was available unless required by law; cancellation stops future renewals.
- Annual or prepaid plans: If you cancel mid-term, Fundolar may issue a pro-rata credit toward future Services or refund unused months where required by law or expressly stated at purchase.
- Platform fees on donations: The 3.5% platform fee on completed donations is generally non-refundable once a transaction has settled, except where a full donation reversal is approved by the fundraising organization and applicable payment network rules allow fee adjustment.
- Service credits: If Fundolar fails to meet contracted availability targets under a service-level agreement, remedies (credits or refunds) follow the terms in your subscription agreement or order form.
To request a refund relating to Fundolar fees, email info@fundolar.com with your account email, invoice or transaction identifiers, and a brief explanation. We respond within five business days.
4. Processing timelines
Approved refunds for Fundolar fees typically post within five to ten business days, depending on banking rails. Processor-mediated donation refunds may take longer and can appear as partial settlements or adjusted payouts.
5. Taxes and regulatory filings
Tax receipts for donations are issued by the fundraising organization in accordance with its legal status and local rules. Fundolar provides transaction records to support organization reporting but does not provide individualized tax advice to donors.
